Hosted by TUSD and the º£ÌÄÖ±²¥ Council of PTAs

º£ÌÄÖ±²¥, CA – On August 28 and 29, 2019, º£ÌÄÖ±²¥ Unified School District, in partnership with the º£ÌÄÖ±²¥ Council of PTAs, will host free screenings of the documentary LIKE.

Technology is a tool. Social platforms provide a place for us all to connect and share. But what effects are technology and social media having on our kids? The amount of time teens spend on their devices and social media has dramatically increased over the past six years. º£ÌÄÖ±²¥ 89% of teens own a smartphone and 70% use social media several times a day.

The documentary LIKE helps parents and kids better understand the impacts of technology and social media, and encourages them to find ways to create balance and to self-regulate screen time. By screening this documentary for parents, the District’s goal is to create a greater awareness about the effects of social media and to start the discussion with parents on how to help our kids navigate these platforms constructively, and safely.

The free screenings of LIKE will take place at 10 am and at 7 pm on:

August 28, 2019 at North High School and
August 29, 2019 at West High School

The documentary is approximately 45 minutes long and will be screened in the Performing Arts Center at both high schools. There will be a panel discussion immediately following the screening.
